The Florida League of Cities is proud to bring you the Institute for Elected Municipal Officials I (IEMO I) on February 6 and 7, 2026 at the Marriott Jacksonville Downtown, located at 245 Water Street, Jacksonville, FL.

Who should attend IEMO:
Created in 1992, the Institute for Elected Municipal Officials was designed to help elected officials in Florida's municipalities to effectively meet the requirements of their elected role. Its intensive academic program offers a comprehensive overview of Florida municipal government, presented by a faculty of top professionals in the field. IEMO is a two-day program structured in a Friday through Saturday format and is offered three times per year at different locations throughout the state.

IEMO I is a two-day program structured in a Friday through Saturday format and is offered three times per year at different locations throughout the state.

Workshops include an overview of Florida municipal government and intergovernmental relations, strategies and best practices for effective councils, budgeting and accounting, taxes and other revenue sources, and parliamentary procedures.

A certificate of attendance is provided upon successful completion of the program.

This must be completed by Thursday, January 15. The room rate is $149.00 per night. A credit card is required to guarantee reservations and cancellations must be received at least 48 hours prior to arrival to avoid one night’s room charge. The hotel block may sell out, we recommend you book the reservation as soon as event registration is completed. Parking: Overnight Self-Parking is available in Enterprise Parking Garage (3rd Party) on Pearl Street. Rates independent from hotel. Overnight Valet Parking – $28 / night. Daily Valet Parking - $12/day.

Cancellations:
Cancellation requests must be received and confirmed in writing by 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2025 to be eligible for a refund. A $50.00 administrative fee will be applied to all cancellations. Substitutions are accepted and encouraged. Refunds will be processed after the program. The FLC reserves the right to cancel the IEMO training. If the training is cancelled, registration fees will be refunded in full.
